Doyers Street

This is Doyers Street in NYC's Chinatown. This was taken on 2/12/2008 on a snowy night. This is not edited in any way. The neon lights and the snow on the ground made for an interesting effect. Doyers Street has a violent history as gangs waged turf wars on this street in the early 20th century. It was dubbed "The Bloody Angle" by the press and it's said the term "hatchetman" was coined here as the gangs wielded axes in their fights.
